Antibody Fragmentation

Purified monoclonal antibodies can be fragmented to Fab or F(ab')2 fragments when assay background is high or when the binding of the full-size antibody is hindered by its size. Antibody fragments may more easily leave blood vessels and penetrate tissues. The Fab fragment is monovalent (contains a single binding site) while the F(ab')2 fragment is divalent. Let us determine the appropriate fragmentation conditions for your antibody.
